SUP with Ana Windsor Castle

On Saturday 18th Jan 2023 Ana led a trip with Views of Windsor Castle, Mistletoe, Parakeets, and Plaques. Assisted by Ian P and myself, 22 Craft on the water, 21 paddleboarders and a Kayak.

After the normal safety briefing we all entered the Thames, Paddling downstream towards Romney lock with The Castle on our Right.

Great views were had by all. After our initial get on the water by dodging the swan poo, and then avoiding the swans, that all thought we had food for them, they were friendly enough and just shared the water,

We continued on Downstream.

Past the Mistletoe and HRH land.

We saw some amazing buildings and had a short break at the EEL monitoring station.

It was a cloudy day with spots of rain at times but it was warm. about 14 degrees. and the wind was blustery.

Everyone was wrapped up and comfortable, and after a short break we carried on downstream to Old Windsor lock where we decided to have lunch and turn around for the return leg.

On the way back not only were we paddling upstream but we also had the wind to contend with, It was hard going but what with the friendship, conversation and help, we all made it, what a great day out.
