On the sat of 29th April Davepaddles ran a pool session attended by 5 club members, A safe and clean environment for safety and rescue skills as well as perfecting self rescue and eskimo rolling in a kayak.
It was a great session and everyone improved and learned a few tips and new things to aid them,
Pete almost managed a roll in his kayak but after several attempts at a deep water self rescue by hauling himself up on his boat he sort of ran out of steam,
on his first attempt he was almost up, but then decided to have another go but this time he had to bail. (good effort though Pete) you’ll get it next time.
Phillip was on fire and after perfecting his crawl up his boat and self entry that he has nailed, decided to just float round the pool.
Chris was (after a long break) getting wet and learning leg hook techniques from Liz. as well as T rescue techniques that were bang on the money.
Liz done a bit of contact towing and sling rescues and a hand of god and she has nailed them.
Dave assisted and taught, but near the end after Pete’s unsuccessful roll did show off a bit.
All in all we had a great session. and looking forward to the next session.
No pics as we were to busy having fun.
