On Friday 17th and Saturday 18th Jan, Davepaddles.co.uk had a 16 hour, 2 day First Aid Course, ran from our clubhouse in Rickmansworth.
There were 8 of us in total attending this course, some new to first aid, some renewing and some just topping up on any latest techniques that may have changed.
Neil was our registered trainer and kept us all in check as well as teaching us.
We had a great 2 days when it comes to learning, with lots of practical as well as theory and a written assessment.
We were all assessed and passed the course.
Phillip had laid on a fantastic spread for our breaks and lunch. (thankyou Phil) pure hotel stuff.
First Aid in an outdoor environment is an absolute must in our opinion as an outdoor activity club and now davepaddles.co.uk has at least 8 fully qualified members, not discounting the members that have also been recently qualified and didn’t need to attend this course.
This will also benefit us in delivering our AquaPaddle once a month, knowing we have the kit and expertise to deal with any incident.
More courses are planned in the future as our membership grows, so keep an eye on the website for anything you may be interested in.
