This course and assessment took some work, a fair bit of e-learning and preparation along with lots of kit preparation and camping logbooks, proof, photo’s as well as a whole lot of safety protocols.
It’s a great course, offered by Chris Conley Coaching and a recognised award by the authorities, (mountain Training UK) that both Dave and Peter took up the opportunity to get qualified in, as to ensure the safety of the people we may take out, our knowledge and our legal requirements to offer what we do as a club.
After Sundays AquaPaddle, Dave returned home, unloaded and loaded his van and set off to the designated campsite, then set about his dinner as an early night was called for.
There was a busy day ahead that was nonstop. Next morning we cracked on at 08.30 and finished at 6.30pm, and well done to Chris’s time management.
4 of us passed the course so now Dave and Peter are Davepaddles camping leaders.
We were too busy to take photos and pretty tired at the end of the day. We (thinking we knew a lot) Learnt a whole lot more and combining all this will prove to be a value to the club.
