We paddled our monthly Free HydroPaddle at Tring on Sunday 16th August 2026, from the grand Junction Arms, a wonderful pub with Canalside views and a lovely garden. (well worth a visit).
Gone are our aqua paddle days and the hounding for donations, this bimonthly event is truly Free to paddles that sign up and want to attend.
Our signups are so we can marshal the event safely, everyone we put on the bank or on the water is fully qualified and suited to the roles they volunteer for.
This event had 5 on the water and 1 on the bank.
It was a relaxed paddle and due to numbers and illness our usual timekeeper didn’t attend, so we just paddled, and what a great day, the sun shone, it was warm, we made new friends, and all of us enjoyed a paddle out on a Sunday morning.
After packing away, we retired as usual into the grounds of the pub for a debrief and cold refreshment.
Next month is Leighton Buzzard before returning to Tring in October.
