This is a FREE 5k timed event (all be it also a pleasure paddle) without the hounding for donations.
You will need your own Craft, Your own Paddle, and a floatation device. ie lifejacket/boyancy aid.
We also reccomend you have a licence to paddle on the water, if you have not we may be able to cover you once and direct you to purchasing one. but please point this out to a marshal. or prior.
We will be paddling from the Grand Junction Arms pub 2.5k down the canal through the Tring cutting before making the turn around back to the finish line.
This is a multicraft event, so as long as you and your craft are safe and paddle able it’s ok to enter.
Signups are a must and will be closed on the eve before the event so we can supply fully qualified marshals for the event.
Our on the water marshals are all safety trained to a high standard as well as first aid trained.
Our timekeeper and on the bank staff are also first aid trained and familiar with all of our club procedures.
DBS checks have also been done for all our club officials. and we have a safeguarding officer at the event.
Dogs are allowed. Children are allowed as long as a parent is present and takes responsibility for them. although we would rather not under 18’s alone on the water.
